Durham Ring Full of Bull

Authorities have arrested a Durham, NC woman for her role in an alleged staged-accident fraud ring.  According to the Insurance Financial Advisor, Alesia Burnette was arrested and charged with multiple counts of insurance fraud for her supposed participation in five staged car accidents over a three year period.

“North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said Alesia Burnette, 45, allegedly participated in five different staged accidents, between May 2006 and April 2009. She allegedly filed claims to GMAC Insurance Co. for $7,200 in phony injuries sustained in the staged crashes, officials said.”

Two additional arrest warrants have been issued for Randall Lee Bass and Nicholas Allen for their alleged participation in the ring.  Both remain at large while “Crash” Burnette is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
